The 2024 Global Education Meeting (GEM) will take place from October 31 to November 1, 2024, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Organized by UNESCO, this international congress will be a key moment for aligning strategies to accelerate progress in education as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (SDG4).
The event will be held back-to-back with the G20 Education Ministers’ Meeting and will emphasize the central role of equity and inclusion in education, themes prioritized by Brazil’s G20 presidency. GEM 2024 will bring together the international education community, including governmental and non-State actors, to engage in cross-sectoral and multilateral dialogue aimed at driving transformative actions in education for sustainable development.
This meeting will serve as a platform to discuss future challenges and opportunities in education, guided by the United Nations Pact for the Future, and will recognize education as a powerful force for social progress.
