{"id":3326,"date":"2025-05-12T22:39:09","date_gmt":"2025-05-12T20:39:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/unesco.kpi.ua\/?p=3326"},"modified":"2025-05-12T22:39:10","modified_gmt":"2025-05-12T20:39:10","slug":"meeting-with-chief-of-higher-education-may-16th","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unesco.kpi.ua\/?p=3326&lang=en","title":{"rendered":"Meeting with Chief of Higher Education (May 16th)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p><em>Dear\u00a0UNESCO\u00a0Higher Education\u00a0Chairs,<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>I am writing to you as the relatively newly-arrived Chief of Section for Higher Education at\u00a0UNESCO\u00a0headquarters in Paris \u2014 both to introduce myself and to invite you to an initial meeting (Friday 16 May, 1:30pm-2:30pm CET) to discuss ways of increasing our collaboration with one another.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>By way of a short introduction, let me say that I have been in the post since the middle of December, having previously had a two-decade career as a faculty member at Loyola University Chicago (USA) first in an Education Policy Studies program and then in the History Department.\u00a0 I have had a number of academic leadership positions and served as President of the Comparative and International Education Society (CIES).\u00a0 I was previously at\u00a0UNESCO\u00a0from\u00a02019-2022\u00a0helping to lead on the futures of education initiative that produced the\u00a0<strong>Reimagining our futures together: A new social contract for education\u00a0<\/strong>report which I know many of you contributed to.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>I consider the UNESCO Chairs and UNITWIN Networks Programme one of the jewels of UNESCO and I appreciate all you have been doing.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>I hope you might be able to join this proposed zoom call so I can share some updates on what the section has been engaged in and so we can identify points of synergy.\u00a0 Please register for the session at this link\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/unesco-org.zoom.us\/meeting\/register\/pDfa6-ERS8iGkQhwdq0-bA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/unesco-org.zoom.us\/meeting\/register\/pDfa6-ERS8iGkQhwdq0-bA<\/a>\u00a0.
