UNESCO is convening a 30th anniversary celebration of the UNITWIN/UNESCO Chairs Programme at its headquarters in Paris from 3-4 November 2022. This anniversary conference will celebrate the accomplishments over the last three decades and advance authentic interdisciplinary dialogues and the cross-sectoral mobilization needed to confront complex challenges on the horizon. Dedicated to the theme of “Transforming knowledge for just and sustainable futures”, the two-day event is grounded in the spirit of scientific, moral, intellectual, and academic solidarity.

The conference is also an opportunity for networking to strengthen collaboration among members and with the UNESCO sector programmes. It will include special sessions based around thematic clusters, allowing multiple opportunities for Chairs, Networks, UNESCO specialists, and other participants, to exchange and initiate new collaborations.

To celebrate the achievements of the Programme, we are inviting members of the UNITWIN Programme – whether attending in person or not – to submit an inspiring short video message (60 to 90 seconds) in advance.

To help you with this, please find the guidelines at this link.

This in-person conference is being organised at UNESCO Headquarters (Paris) with the support of the French national commission for UNESCO. Kindly register at this link.

Deadline for registration: 30 September 2022.
